JULIE THOMASON
BFA MACP RCC-ACS
Hi there, I am glad you are here! I’m Julie Thomason (she/her), an Approved Clinical Supervisor and Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, offering supervision through my private practice.
I provide thoughtful, compassionate and strengths-based support to both emerging and experienced therapists who want to deepen their practice, strengthen their clinical insight and feel more confident in their clinical work. Also, I welcome all healthcare professionals for general consultations and value collaborative care as we support clients together.
Clinical Supervision can help us feel more confidant in our clinical work.
At the heart of ethical, meaningful, and effective clinical work is the support of a trusted supervisor—
Someone who helps you stay grounded, reflect deeply, and grow with integrity, as you navigate the complexities of clinical practice.
Supervision offers a compassionate space to reflect, ask questions without judgment and grow both your clinical skills and your confidence.
I deeply enjoy walking alongside emerging therapists as they explore their voice, values and professional identity as a clinician, as they discover the kind of clinician they want to be.
Together, we will create a space for you to feel grounded, connected and empowered. And, through these supervision sessions, you can begin to feel more anchored in your work and more aligned with the therapist you are becoming.
SUPERVISION STYLE
Julie Thomason’s supervision style is authentic, collaborative, and adaptable—becoming more directive when the situation calls for it. Her approach is consistently supportive, respectful, culturally humble, strength-based and grounded in trauma-informed care.
Julie provides supervision that addresses both the clinical issues at hand and the therapist’s own development. She supports clinicians in exploring self-of-the-therapist factors—such as family of origin, personal mental health or relationship history—as they relate to the therapeutic work. Her goal is to foster growth and confidence in therapists as they deepen their clinical skills and professional identity.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION WORK EXPERIENCE
For the past five years, Julie Thomason supervised and trained clinical counselling interns at the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre in Chilliwack, B.C. Canada. This dynamic live-supervision model offered real-time guidance, TED-talk style teaching moments, live role-plays, group supervision and guest speakers covering a wide range of clinical topics. Julie is grateful for this rich and formative experience, she now brings that depth of knowledge to her private practice, where she offers supervision and support to fellow therapists.
